Mess Hall was an experimental cultural center located in a storefront in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. It’ was an open space for events, lectures, workshops, art, ideas, and swap.
Temporary Services worked with Ava Bromberg, Marianne Fairbanks & Jane Palmer, Sam Gould, and Dan S. Wang, to start this initiative. Many other people took on running Mess Hall over the ensuing years. The space was active from 2003-2013. It lived at 6932 North Glenwood Avenue. Mess Hall hosted hundreds of events, talks, actions, exhibitions, meetings, and that saw some of the most diverse audiences we encountered in the city.
